Artist's Statement

My goals for photography are 1.) To capture moments connected to emotion in a non-intrusive manner and  2.) To capture the beauty of nature and reconnect people to nature so that they may relive moments and further develop a respect for the natural world.  I view the digital camera and computer I use as a tool to meet these goals and express my vision.  Though captured with a digital camera, little digital editing occurs, you won't find fake four-leaf clovers or altered faces.

*A truly inspiration video that makes me NOT alter my images can be seen here. (Dove Self-Esteem).  I believe that the beauty one feels with their heart, is greater than the beauty one sees with their eyes.

Biography

Why do I photograph?  Capturing the moment is one of the most incredible feelings.  Getting back from an all-day hike or wedding and looking at the photographs is an exciting rush.  The day may bring over 1,000 photos each linked to an emotion and moment in time, whether it be the morning dew or the bride saying "I do."

Born in Russellton, PA, (map) I found a world of intrigue in the local park exploring and observing.  Through a high school class in visual communications, I found the delight of black and white film photography.  The process amazed me and I can still smell the developing fluid.  Upon graduating from Penn State with a B.S. in Soil Science (it's soil, not dirt!), I found myself in love with the new technology of digital photography.  I put over $350 into a Kodak 3.1 mega pixel camera.  That was really the beginning.  From there on, I took photos of everything, trees, people, bugs, flowers, and yes, MUSHROOMS!  That little macro button astounded me and the detail I never knew could be captured, was there.

My friends and family encouraged me to apply to a local free art show, Art All Night.  At this time I was hoping for the best.  My friends and my wife, Christina, gave me a tremendous amount of support.  It was a great event and I feel that Art All Night was my kicking off point for Simple Stuff Studio.  Though no one bought the photo, I was happy to get it out there. From that point on I felt like I could reconnect people to their own childhood memories of nature.  Through this reconnection, I hope that they would relive their days spent "out there" and further develop a respect for the natural world.

Life photography is a new adventure for me.  A dear friend and amazing photographer Melody Farrin, introduced me to wedding photography.  First it is an honor to work along such a fine photographer, but also she has inspired me to capture the moment on one of the most important days in two people's lives, their wedding day.  Many of the photos you see throughout the site are weddings I captured with her.  Thank you Melody.  Lots of pressure, but there is a lot of reward to it.

In 2008 I decided a name change was needed...ta da Brad Georgic Photography!  I am very excited for the future of my photography.  I want to thank all my family, friends, and clients for their support!
